Natural Zeolites and their usages commercially and by consumers has largely been suppressed by the major chemical companies much in the same way as alternative fuel sources have been suppressed by the major oil companies. For example, Zeolite is an excellent replacement for sand in swimming pool filters. Zeolite will filter, clarify, and
soften the water as it passes through the filter, drastically reducing the need for a lot of the pool chemicals. It does a far superior job, but just try to buy it at a local pool supplier. Most of the suppliers either do not carry it or they have it marked up at a cost that few people can
afford. They would rather sell the high priced chemicals to do the job that Zeolite will do naturally. The fact is that Zeolite works too well, so if it is introduced, the pool suppliers will lose money on chemical sales.
